Witcher 3 Making Easy Money Patch 1.11

Cyberpunk 2077 (Video Game 2020) Poster

8 /10

A great game despite its legitimate issues.

Let's not beat around the bush here, 'Cyberpunk 2077 (2020)' had an absolutely abysmal launch. Put simply, it should not have been released when it was - something made all the more clear by the fact that its first post-launch patch, while far from perfect, dramatically improved things just a couple of weeks after the game's initial release. I started the game on version 1.04 and ended it on 1.11. While I can safely say that each patch improved the piece's performance, I can't deny that it was still a mess when I finished up the campaign. Glitches, hitches, bugs and, even, crashes impacted my experience even on the latest version of the game. To make matters worse, I played the thing on a base PS4. To start with, I wasn't sure if I'd be able to make it through; the frame-rate regularly dropped below fifteen, things popped in right in front of your eyes, the anti-aliasing and screen-space reflections left these weird smears, the whole frame looked blurred, NPS often had no facial features until you were close enough to smell their breath and glitches - such as falling through the floor or ineffective mission triggers - often halted your progress. I persevered, though, and am glad I did. I can't say exactly how much of the experience was improved via patches and how much of it I simply adjusted to (I suspect the frame-rate was fairly low even at its highest), but I'm happy to say I was ultimately able to play the entirety of it without too much issue. I even enjoyed it. It's important to note that the game is actually still rather impressive - especially in its story, its scale and its scope - even if it doesn't live up to its potential (or its ridiculous pre-release hype). It's a first-person RPG set in a dystopian future ruled by big business, with its main themes pretty much all revolving around its anti-corporation/ anti-capitalist stance (ironic, given that the game itself suffered greatly due to corporate greed). The bulk of its gameplay is made-up of fairly standard 'FPS' stuff. The shooting mechanics aren't exactly deep, but they're decent enough and shootouts are typically rather fun. It's closer to 'Far Cry 4 (2014)' or 'Far Cry 5 (2018)' than 'Doom (2016)' or 'Titanfall 2 (2016)'. Driving also takes a prominent role but it's actually rather floaty and unfulfilling. It gets you from A to B but isn't exactly thrilling. Neither is the open world, at large. It just feels sort of lifeless, in a way, and there isn't much to do within it. Still, it's visually distinct and is split up into well-defined areas. The side-missions and gigs that make up much of the experience are fairly good, even if they're somewhat repetitive. A few side plots stand out among the rest, with strong character development and thematic resonance, but most just sort of blend into one 'merc for hire' mush. The best part of the experience is easily its story. It actually explores some thought-provoking, poignant themes and can, depending on your choices, provide some solid character arcs for both your self-made protagonist and for Johnny Silverhand, the game's other major character. Though its concepts have been seen before, it still explores them in an engaging way. Although some dialogue options lead to unexpected results, most of the writing is immersive and consequential. The multitude of characters you meet almost all feel like fully-fledged individuals and the game does a good job of convincing you that your choices matter, even when they don't. Most of the major choices come towards the end and they do have an impact on the way things wrap up. It's a shame that some of the endings seem obviously 'bad' and others obviously 'good', especially considering the grey morality that perforates the rest of the narrative. Still, the ending I initially got is a satisfying conclusion and even the more negative finales feel like distinct stopping points. I put around eighty hours into the title, completing all side-missions and gigs alongside the campaign, and I don't feel as though I wasted any time. It's a difficult game to rate because it does have legitimate, deep-rooted issues. There are even some fundamental flaws that I haven't touched on here for the sake of brevity. Ultimately, despite its problems, I had a lot of fun with the thing. It's genuinely enjoyable and almost equally as compelling. I can't recommend you go out and pay full price for it, though, because its technical issues do create a high barrier to entry (I got it as a Christmas present, so I didn't actually spend any of my own cash on it). Luckily, those same technical issues are slowly being ironed out by the developers. Perhaps in a little while the game will be worth the amount of money it's going for. There's a great game buried beneath all these problems. 8/10.

Great game but with tons of technical problems

Greetings from Lithuania.

It took me 82 hours to platinum "Cyberpunk 2077" (2020) on my PS4 pro console. I really enjoyed this game despite it being a technical mess right now. There are characters in this game that were most memorable I've encountered in games in years. Dialogs were great and mature - this game is not for youngest kids for sure. Also plot was very good and involving. I liked the open world and it felt fresh. The whole 4 endings I've played were all interesting and good.

But this game is also very poorly optimized for PS4 (Pro in my case) at this moment. There are tons of bugs, glitches, lags - you name it. Also police system is absolutely broken, as well AI of enemies is almost non existing. Still I'm giving it 8/10 because I had ton of fun playing it - and its a very long game if you are completionist - it will take you more then 100 hours to do all side quests - but that is no surprise if you know "Witcher 3".

Overall, technically this game is mess right now, but on PS4 Pro its more then playable. It has flaws but despite them - I really enjoyed it.

An Honest Review

Well, it looks good enough on whatever TV my wife has, so I don't understand where the whole console complaint is coming from.

But, she got it for me for Christmas, and because of COVID we celebrated at home. So I put it in, and the patches took forever, we watched Wonder Woman 1984, and then we watched a couple more movies, and then we went to bed when it was still uploading and installing the patches.

I kind of forgot about it for a while, picked it up, and it was still a glitch filled nightmare with awkward controls.

As cool as it looked, as cool as the world looked, it became unplayable just because of the glitches and the awkward controls.

Excellent story/characters/quests, flawed sandbox

I'd put the Witcher 3 up there with my top ten games of all times, a serious contender for the best written RPG I've ever played, competing against Planescape: Torment and Knights of the Old Republic 2.

After the triumph of Wild Hunt, the hype for this new release of CD Projekt RED was insane, which is leading to strongly mixed reactions. Eight MILLION preorders is an incredible result; however, a certain part of the fandom seems to be receiving this as well as the last season of Game of Thrones, churning out scornful memes at impressive speed.

I've read console versions have important issues in terms of visuals and stability. On my PC no complaints on the matter, the game looks neat and I've encountered no major bugs.

More than a cyberpunk Witcher 3, however, this feels like Deus Ex: Night City.

Writing is typically fine, both in the main and secondary quests, with memorable characters and solid dialogues anchored by strong voice acting. CD Projekt RED has a knack for creating NPCs far more interesting than the usual quest-delivering puppets.

What doesn't work? Well, the open world sandbox element of the game lacks immersion and feels rushed compared to, say, Red Dead Redemption 2, which came out two years ago. Night City is vast and looks impressive (I particularly like its verticality) but kinda feels empty, because NPC (and vehicle) AI is lacking and, well, there's not a lot to do other than quests. Some features reek of cutting corners, like the awful police AI: when a crime is committed a bunch of angry cops will spawn behind you like law-enforcing, trigger-happy ghosts and start shooting. It's so rough compared to the sophisticated reactions of lawmen in RDR2.

My advice: if you liked, say, Deus Ex: Human Revolution and want to play this on PC for the story and characters, Cyberpunk is strongly recommended. If you crave an immersive sandbox cyberpunk experience ("GTA 2077: Blade Runner"), wait for new patches and see.

Not for me

I cant play this game. Even the story make me want to not play. I enjoyed the visual and the possibilites of the open world but all the bugs, the glitches make the game awful. And the sci-fi world is clearly not for me. Didnt enjoy it.

Cyberpunk 2077 Could Have Been Something Special But Its Still Pretty Good Despite the Bugs

The potential Cyberpunk 2077 had was amazing. Between the marketing material, how amazing the world looked and the hype somehow reaching another level, I pre-ordered and even bought the strategy guide. If you've been following the game, you know how things went upon launch. It was a complete horror show between the backlash from the community and all the memes and videos with some truly mind boggling glitches. CD Projekt Red's stock tanked and the game earned some special company with the infamy it created (Cyberpunk 2076 anyone?). Is it still worth picking up despite all the issues? I would say yes but with a few caveats that I will list below.

Are the glitches and performance as bad as you've heard? Yes... Unfortunately they are. I was beyond excited and despite reports of the game being a buggy mess... it only delayed me playing it for a few weeks. I still was tempted enough to fire it up. It crashed on me several times and key components like environments and certain characters took minutes to render instead of being ready instantaneously. I got caught in buildings that were broken enough to let me in but the doors wouldn't open to let me out and I fell out of the map a few times. The phone segments and the driving were the worst. But as much as I could continue to just list flaw after flaw, I did just get used to it and accept it. The game is good enough to overcome and after a trial by fire period, it became an almost non-issue. It was worth it in the end but I can't blame people for being upset or returning the game.

I want to get the negatives out of the way so I'll just touch on how the gameplay was overhyped. 2077 was touted as the revolution in open world RPG gaming, as the true game changer and it didn't have nearly as many features as it was advertised to have. It does have excellent elements in it but between building up your character, the missions or how interactive the world was, I had seen most of it before. With the futuristic environment, it was in some pretty packaging but most parts were familiar instead of awe inducing. It was still entertaining but it wasn't something that re-invented wheel for a sandbox mercenary game.

Getting to what I did enjoy about the game, Cyberpunk does have an involving story to tell. You get to pick V's origin story (another game element that didn't matter much in the end) but his journey through his ups and downs in Night City has a lot of fun, a ton of action and some surprisingly emotional moments. While it does start with the big heist gone bad (a familiar plot beat if you've played one of these types of games before) but between his relationship with Johnny Silverhand (a fun but vocally stunted performance by Keanu Reeves) and joining up with characters like Panam, Judy, Takemura and River, there's lots to explore and enjoy with their missions and their interplay. The game has a colourful cast of characters and while the main campaign is surprisingly short, with the side missions, gigs and cyberpsycho attacks, there's more than enough content to keep you busy in Night City. The characters actually develop and change with the beats of the story, V's love/hate relationship with Johnny and their dynamic might have been the most unique element of the game. How you can affect the game's story also had an impact. It was cool to be able to take different directions, talk my way out of conflict and pick how to deal with potential friends and enemies throughout the game. While some games champion choice as part of their narrative, Cyberpunk does back up that claim. You can fail missions and the story will keep going, save a life here that can benefit you later or sneak in and out of a compound without having to touch a weapon. You can play it your way and while that's not a entirely fresh idea, it is executed well here.

For all the graphical and rendering issues, this world still is beautiful when the game functions properly. Going from district to district, each part of the city is fun to interact with and has fun stylistic shifts. There's a huge disparity in Night City of who lives and works in each area, you can go from the City Center to the Badlands and the environment is completely different. You also have some cool designs from some of the gangs, the maelstrom gang being flunkies who go beyond normal cyber modification to the animals who reject the same modification and become steroid toting hulk knockoffs. There's a lot of variety in the game and you can tell there was a ton of hours put into re-imagining our world in this neon dystopia lens.

Despite all the hate and the problems, Cyberpunk is still a game worth spending your time on. The story, characters and the world are worth the investment even if the game was released too early and needed to be cleaned up. I don't blame fans for being outraged, not everyone can afford a top shelf PC or a next gen console (which at this point in time is not readily available either, so if the game is primarily sold on the older systems, its reasonable for people to expect it to work). While games are rarely glitch free these days, these types of bugs are pretty hard to explain away. Give it a shot with some lowered expectations, maybe wait until they've released some of the patches to improve your experience and hopefully you can get it at a lower price point. Unless you've got some impressive gaming hardware, in that case go nuts.

Cybersimp 2077

Let it be known that I have nothing but respect for the designers of this game. That includes the poor overworked programmers who were probably forced to crunch this game up for the Christmas season before it was even remotely finished, because corporate greed, exactly the kind Jonny Silverhand hates so much, is in control of CD Project Red. It's mainly that, what I hate about this game, it's corporate agendas and horrible, generic writing. With that in mind, read on...

In Cyberpunk 2077, when you're done getting yelled at by roided up "strong" women or getting beat up by deep-voiced cookie cutter Skrillex-haircut "women in power" or even just watching male NPCs get yelled up or beat up by women, with neither them nor you having the option to stand up for yourself, you realize that there's zero player freedom in this game but there sure are agendas. One character told me in a quest that she's had a sex change for literally no reason whatsoever, it added nothing to the quest, it was just thrown in there for "good boy" corporate SJW points. The rest of the game is full of stuff like that too. But let's focus on writing and player choice...

You can see "plot twists" a mile away but are always forced to go with it, you don't have any freedom to act on your own, you have to act dumb and get into predictable traps all the time. The game actively prevents you from killing evil characters if they're part of a quest, and forces you to fall for their traps, constantly.

You'll interact with the most insuffrable characters in the history of video gaming, without being able to be yourself. This is no Fallout: New Vegas for sure. In the rare cases where you *can* choose what to say - if you try to play as yourself, the game will punish you for not guessing what the writers wanted to you say instead. There is no grey morality here, no nuances, just black and white.

There are a record number of gliches, and while most are visual and can be ignored, some are game breaking, such as quests breaking, the game skipping cutscenes and locking you in one, or sling shotting you 50 miles away from a window when you try to climb through it.

Don't waste your money, even if Santa was bringing 50GB patches this Christmas, it wouldn't fix the game's terrible writing, insuffrable characters and frustrating lack of player freedom.

Should Be Called "Johnny Silverhand"

Warning: Spoilers

Just my opinion: from my understanding, before 2018 the Johnny Silverhand character was a small part; like what a legend should be. I have played the game five times. The last one was and is (since I'm still playing it) over 200+ hrs of gameplay. So much of the game can be played without Johnny Silverhand; actually minus some minute side quests, and the main questline: Johnny Silverhand isn't in the game at all. When Keanu Reeves signed on (and I place no blame on him) it seems the gamemakers became starstruck and changed the game drastically to give him a bigger role and ended up making the game all about "Johnny Silverhand", and the main game is. V (male or female) is actually a secondary character rather than the primary character because in the end, no matter what version one ends with s/he dies but Johnny Silverhand 'lives' on.

Based on all the content they (CD Projekt Red) showed and talked about (before and after 2018) seemed as a game centered on one character: V, trying to become a legend in name rather than the embodiment of a legend who died decades prior, and that makes sense. However, making V the one who either becomes Johnny or dies so Johnny can live or become an AI, or just dies doesn't make too much sense because V in any scenario never becomes a legend; V is just thrown away. It would make more sense if, to do it at all, that Jackie kept the chip and survived because of Johnny, and V tried the entire game to save Jackie, also makes sense a drink being named after him because a botched heist doesn't make one a legend it makes them a loser and why would anyone of their accord honor that?

Also, all the content they showed where Silverhand wasn't a part of makes a lot of sense in what they conveyed originally. The abilities, the attributes, the perks all made sense and all the cut content and mechanics they got rid of was to make room for Johnny Silverhand. It makes sense that they hurried after 2018 to put a game together showcasing that character and why the game is broken as it is, and not just the mechanics of it all but the obvious plotholes throughout the game that make no sense whatsoever.

This game is not innovating. It doesn't put other games to shame. It's not even on the level of The Witcher 3 or its dlc's. The stories in Cyberpunk 2077 are primarily mundane and have no soul to them. There's not a single main or side quest I can think of that was absolutely breathtaking or mindblowing or anything. There's so much in the game but it's really quite empty. It does have its good qualities but they are few and far between. It is quite playable. I never get bored playing it but it's not what was sold to those of us who bought into all the hype. Maybe it'll get better in the future but right now it's two games fighting to be one game and that just doesn't work.

Oof this is a difficult one

So...we all know about the sheer state this game launched in by now. I'm going to say right here and now that that was utterly unacceptable, but the majority of my time spent with this game was post two or three patches, which I found to put the game in a state that I don't think anyone would complain about if it launched that way, so it won't be affecting my score. But come on, CD Projekt Red, I'm not angry, just disappointed. You were one of the good guys only two months ago.

Speaking of them being one of the good guys not too long ago, I feel as though I should mention that I didn't really think Witcher 3 was amazing either, but what's weird about this game is that a lot of things I didn't like in that game have been improved, while things I did like are considerably worse. For example, I thought that the world design and combat in Witcher 3 was so incredibly tedious. Not so in this game.

Night City and the badlands surrounding it is one of the most detailed, gorgeous, and (if not for the terrible AI of the NPC's and multiple instances of up to ten of the same dude walking down a single street) believable open worlds I've ever experienced. It starts to fall apart a little when you peer more closely at it and realise that the NPC's really don't do much, and the wanted system is without question the worst I've ever seen in an open world game, but while driving or walking around, it is utterly stunning and I loved my time spent in it.

Although speaking of driving, believe me when I say: stick to motorcycles if you actually want to enjoy yourself driving around, because cars are for the most part a complete misery to drive. They slip and slide all over the place, it can take an eternity to get back control when they inevitably swerve off the road, and there's often so little space on the roads that you will be forever grateful to have something smaller. Thankfully, you can get one as a reward for completing a side mission very early in the game.

The car situation isn't helped by the fact that what feels like every five minutes someone is texting you to try and convince you to buy a new one of these accursed automobiles, and for some reason these are considered quests even though they're never any more complicated then finding the car's location and confirming that you want to buy it. And here I thought The Witcher 3's treasure hunts shouldn't have counted as quests.

Combat is also something I was not a big fan of in Witcher 3, it being far too simple and restricted if you ask me, but again this is a vast improvement. It handles like a typical first person shooter, which already means it is much more satisfying than Witcher 3's incessant button mashing, but if that's not your speed, you can go melee with really cool weapons like katanas, or best of all, "mantis blades" which are giant metal blades that sprout out of your arms and are, to put it simply, totally sweet.

Or you can hack and stealth your way through everyone in your path with the many modifications you can get at a ripperdoc, so there is a gameplay style that will appeal to most people, and they all have benefits and drawbacks and enough of a depth to the progression and upgrades available to make them all satisfying. It's unfortunate then, that just like Witcher 3, after a certain point in the game I realised that I was breezing by without having to bother upgrading anything, just ditching guns in favour of better ones I found on dead enemies, rarely leveling up or engaging with the perks system, and I think I crafted something twice maybe? And yes, you could tell me to play on a harder difficulty, but then I'll tell you that the normal difficulty on a game is exactly that - normal, and presumably the intended experience. And then I'd tell you that the intended experience is far too easy.

The soundtrack on the game's radio stations is really impressive, considering the amount of different and original songs that play on it, although the soundtrack anywhere else is unfortunately much less satisfying, and nowhere near as good as Witcher 3's excellent folk tunes. Voice acting wise, it's all pretty good stuff as well, and after getting over the novelty of seeing Keanu Reeves in a game, I thought he fit the character he plays pretty well, and not just like they got a famous person to drive the game's sales up.

Also I admit this is a bit of a nitpick, but when you lock players out of romancing certain characters because of the gender you chose, and then don't give them the option to change that, especially in a world where there are ads proudly featuring a woman with a giant penis, I can't help but feel it's just a little bit of an oversight. All the other customisation is pretty great, but that is definitely a little sore spot.

And finally, there's the story...by far the most disappointing aspect of the game. It brings me no pleasure to say that, seeing as the fantastic story of Witcher 3 was the only thing that kept me going through it, but say it I must. I didn't find the main story very interesting. It has good ideas, and the branching choices in both it and the many side quests that can lead to completely different outcomes are really fun to see, but the one big stumbling block for me is that it seemed as though for it to work, it was relying on me to care about V, the player character, and I just didn't.

This is because he's a player created character, and therefore doesn't really have much personality other than what you tell him to say. This wasn't the case with Geralt, who was a charming, yet vicious and snarky guy when he needed to be, and his adoptive father-daughter relationship with Ciri really gave the story a lot of emotional resonance. In contrast, asking me to care about V is only slightly more logical than asking me to care about my character in Dark Souls, and that's only because V actually speaks.

The endings are also all pretty disappointing, and I won't spoil anything, but the lack of a certain way it could easily have ended is really a shame, because it almost makes it feel as though none of your choices really mattered at all.

The lacking main quest stings all the more when you consider the brilliant side quests, a lot of which are easily on par, or even superior to those in Witcher 3, because they focus on other characters that you do grow to care about, and have really interesting concepts as well. That said, there is also an abundance of the boring question marks littered all over Witcher 3's map making a return, only here there's even less variety because nearly all of them boil down to going somewhere and shooting dudes with nothing else to them, and they are e v e r y w h e r e.

So in the end, while I'm giving this the same rating I gave Witcher 3, and I do find it slightly disappointing, I think there is definitely potential for a really great sequel, I'm still looking forward to the expansions, and I would rather replay this than Witcher 3.

Just a bit of a shame in the end, but a very enjoyable shame. Like going on a really great date and then finding out that the other person was actually cheating on someone by going.

It is playable and there is nothing completely broken, but it is also a huge buggy mess man

(REVIEWS AT LAUNCH) Honestly there isn't really a big thing that separates this game from other first person shooters. This isn't WITCHER 3, which had a huge lore and amazing world building to it. Witcher 3 has elements of other stuff but it is mostly its own thing in terms of weapons, magic, and story.

Cyberpunk 2077 is basically Matrix mixed with Deus Ex, mixed with Bladerunner, mixed with Butcher Bay, and a little bit of Witcher 3's level system.

The shooting is fine but I prefer Rage 2's shooting system. The one thing people will say about this game AT LAUNCH is the funny and sometimes gamebreaking glitches that happen. An example is; I plugged myself into a machine to hack it and then I froze and couldn't do anything, I've seen cars float in the air, dead bodies buried half into the cement ground, dead enemies disappearing after dying, enemies who are alive but just stand there looking at you, enemies getting their limbs stuck on a door and they begin convulsing, enemies who can disappear disappear underneath cars and get stuck there, and so much more.

Oh boy, CD RED will probably fix these issues but yea, most people are right when they are talking about the problems. THIS GAME NEEDED ANOTHER 6 months - 12 months of development time. Honestly it should had never been released for PS4 & X-Box One because those are basically unplayable slideshows. This is a PC review using a GTX 2080S.

The graphics are a mixed bag, the lighting, guns, and cars look good enough, but MY GOD the characters faces are a blurred mess. It seriously look like early PS3 faces. The characters tattoos are a huge ugly pixilated mess. It is unbearable to look at. The textures on the wall, candy machine, items in shop, posters all over the cities, and newpapers are completely horrible. It looks so pixilated.

Overall at Launch I would say it is still a 7/10 because the world is big enough and the shooting is decent, just have a camera nearby because I have been taking pictures of glitches to show people.

Loved it!

I played this game on release after waiting through its many delays and was happy with how it turned out. For my first time going through the game I chose the Corpo life path which was very enjoyable. My main complaints about the game are the dialogue: each character talks a lot about fictional technology which can really make conversations feel long and boring, the combat: it isn't bad, it's just mediocre, the range of weapons is great the ways you can use them is as well, the hand to hand combat is dreadful(probably the worst in any game ever but it can be avoided), the bugs: now, this is everyone's biggest complaint but personally I haven't seen any game breaking bugs yet and I have played through the whole game, I have only had some minor bugs that I can laugh off. Right, the good parts of the game is definitely the story. I adore the story, it's so interesting and the fact that it can change for people is incredible, it makes the game very replay able and my ending was so satisfying. The start of the game is also great and gave and great feel for it. The middle part was alright, there was some speed bumps which can be expected when squeezing in a lot of information in a limited time. The characters are also amazing. I've heard some people say that Keanu Reeves character, Johnny Silverhand, was dry, but I loved the chemistry between him and V. The other smaller characters where great as well, especially Jackie. If the game was released without any glitches it could have been one of the many greats! 8/10 get past the frame rate and bugs and simply play for the story and characters.

You can literally live in it

I am 36 hours into game, on PC... What does it have to offer? Decent main storyline with Keanu Reeves quite often commenting on the choices you make... There is a truly huge amount of fully animated, voice acted side quests with missions ranging from stealth and small army encounters to chasing ai cars .. In most missions you have multiple ways to approach your enemies... Decent real time combat , I am focusing on ranged weapons, but I know you can focus on melee/implant combat if you wish... Hundreds of abilities to choose from, upgradable weapons, charcter implants, stats , you really have a huge choice for your character build...

GLORIOUS!

I love this game. With a system spec'd to run it the graphics are gorgeous, the gameplay is fluid, there's tons to explore, and the gun-play and action are visceral. A long time fan of shooters (playing almost all of them since Quake), this is one of my favorite shooting experiences to date, coming from a person who enjoys games like the Rainbow Six series, Deus Ex series, the Crysis series, Rage, the Far Cry series, Fallout 4 and Destiny 2. The only game of the lot I think can come close in terms of aesthetic and graphics quality would be Destiny 2, and this truly feels like a next-gen title. The game-play is reminiscent of any of the previously mentioned shooters in terms of gun-play, with the stealth action resembling Deus Ex or Fallout 4, and melee action somewhat like Shadow Warrior 2, with the role-playing dialogues being similar to the Mass Effect series, and the exploration, city and overall experience feels largely reminiscent of Saints Row Third. There are a couple of bugs, but even in its earliest state, and having played hundreds of hours by now, despite reports, this game has been extremely stable, and performs incredibly well considering the amount of visual detail throughout. With an RTX 2080 paired with an i9 I run the game solidly between the 40-80 fps range at ULTRA settings, no joke. RARE is the occasion of crazy action and on-screen objects that can bring it below 40 fps, but that said, I'm looking forward to getting my hands on an RTX 3080, as this game is beautiful and the game-play very fluid at high framerates. LOVE the guns and cybernetics, never felt so cool playing any other character in my life, V utterly rocks ballz (I play the female version, Streetkid background, highly recommended). Keanu Reeves is AWESOME in game. I can't say I've played a game with anywhere near as high a "cool" factor since the very first Deus Ex, which was legendary, so that speaks for itself in what it says for Cyberpunk 2077. And GRIMES is in it! YAY!

+the soundtrack is awesome, so many great playlists, i actually went and bought a ton of the music on iTunes +driving the cars and especially the bikes in first person is awesome +not nearly as buggy for me at all as i've seen reported by others, and i'm a very random player who runs around and jumps all over and messes with everything, it's very stable for me, other people might have inferior systems or just be inferior players +GRIMES AND KEANU REEVES ARE BOTH IN IT, EPIC CANADIAN TALENT FTW!

Unplayable on console.

Graphics.... look bad compared to any trailers or sneak peaks at actual gameplay. Not shiny or polished. NPC characters disappear. Freak graphic problems all over, like people with no legs.

Quests..... quest are pretty broken. I actually got tired of rolling back through all my saves to try to get around a bug. Wasted hours doing that. Main reason why I got a refund for the game.

Crashes.... lots of crashes. Hard crashes. Messages saying my Xbox one X is overheating.

NPCs.... are pretty good, but then they die early.

Driving..... probably the worst vehicle feel I've felt in a driving game in a long time. Like the car don't steer, then instantly your over steering and running over a lamp post and a person on accident. Nice cars... garbage feel.

The Map System.................... Jesus Christ The menu system.................. holy hell Lol, ummm how hard is it to get the guns and attachments straightened out. My god. It's an utter mess.

They had 8 years.... I'm sorry you don't sell a full price game that isn't nearly ready. That's a huge mistake. They knew it. But they pumped too much money into marketing. Had to get their money back. They had a solid idea for making possibly the best game ever, and instead they dedicated in their shorts. Don't get me wrong. I'll guarantee you it's not the developers fault, It's a suit that pushed and pushed and pushed, but can you also blame the suit *shrug, they've been developing this game for 8years.

This is the biggest disappointment in a video game in probably at least a decades if not more, in my opinion.

This game has the most bugs I've ever encountered in a video game. I'm not sure what happened to the video game industry but I'm honestly becoming uninterested in playing these companies have baked headaches that they are pumping out.

Ok, this is garbage

Cell phone calls, horrible lore, that's impossible to follow. This is essentially Farcry in a futuristic city, but the game crashes every fifteen minutes. I want my money back!

Old & tired. Seen it all before.

This is the turning point for this kind of stale formula I would say. We are back to square one, to the tired out of date Dystopian Blade Runner "Future". The lack of vision for the future is not only stunted world-wide by utterly absent.

Just like the recent Picard series, instead of progress, it presents us with today's culture, on steroids. People in this future have no ability to think critically; instead they're just further reacting to their childish culture of self-obsessive aesthetics, social status, mass-consumption, chemical abuse, rapacity, de-evolution & poverty. That's not the future. That is this current limited society - From an American perspective - as always. Euro-Dollars is the height of CDPR's imagination, & apart from purloining everlasting clichés from the last century, it really has nothing new. This will sit well with all the middle aged wage slaves who are bombarded with nostalgia every 3 minutes.

"Oooh yes I remember that. I haven't heard that in a while. That reminds me of things I already know about. The Good ol' days. I don't have to learn any of this I'm having fun yes."

Yeh we get it. You miss your childhood & don't know how to move on. Never mind the fact that it is trite, stale & offers nothing original, innovative, experimental, or inspiring. Nostalgia is a little like celebrating the ability to keep your brain the same size.

The game mechanics are all there as usual. Don't expect to be blown away by anything other than headshots, customization, & lacklustre upgrades. A tired old formula. Made by geriatrics who are obviously still reminiscing over 80's Science Fiction which was never taken that seriously in the first place.

The human population feels very hopeless right now. Late-Stage Capitalism has failed all but 2%, we've had no social progress trapped inside the Industrial Revolution, Bio-Diversity is in the gutter, Eco-systems are collapsing, and the Climate Emergency currently threatens us with the 6th great extinction as our natural resources are squandered on military posturing. But CD Project Red utterly ignores ALL of that. Because this is about going Back, not forward.

This is the slow crawl out of what has become a stale formulaic generation for gaming. They haven't realised yet that if you give humans the ability to create a better world, they shall. Instead, CDPR want to make money by pandering to their mental afflictions by building the world they want you to see, full of social-economic decay - priming you all to expect the very worst from the future which their generation have arrogated from you in real life.

This game is an insult to humanity, not a vision of it.

CyberPunk'd 2020

The game isn't great. Not what I was expecting. The writing is terrible. Graphics are ok. Gameplay is decent. Customization is not that deep. Voice acting is bad. V sounds like my character from Ghost Recon: Wildlands. No one asked for Keanu Reeves. He's not a good fit for the game. They should've waited 6 more months before releasing the game. Maybe they'll work on the Witcher 4 next and leave this futuristic game in the past.

Almost the best game I've played but...

It even has a dance feature when you stand on a dance floor. But why bother without 3rd person? I would have given this a 5 if not for the great characters, massive game world, and outstanding writing and acting. Keanu is even better than my already high expectations and it's loyal to William Gibson's Neuromancer. Why then with such an amazing interactive world did you make it an FPS? Melee sucks in FPS. Driving is impossible on FP perspective so you gave it switch mode. Yet you can FEEL the difference between driving different car models and using different weapons and the visuals are spectacular. I should have given this a 5 but it's just too good otherwise. Create new content as you go forward and it could be legendary if it was in 3rd person.

It's a good game, but it could have been much better!

Warning: Spoilers

Despite all the controversy regarding this game, personally I've found it quite entertaining enough. I've played the game on PC, so I had a much better performance than the players on PS5, especially the ones using a PS4, so I don't have so many bad things to say about it. I had 365 hours in it, being the most played game I ever had the occasion to play. In fact, I don't really have so many bad things to say, because as I've already stated in the title of the review, the game is good, it's worth playing it. Here I am talking about an experience on PC, not on a high-end PC, but rather one that is situated in the area of middle-end systems.

I will start by mentioning the bad things about this game. I will try to let aside the long variety of bugs and glitches, but I've took them in account. Apart of that, what really seems very bad, or underdeveloped I would rather say, it's the fact that through the whole game, exception making the main storyline and the side quests, is the fact that if you are a completionist, like I am and you want to complete every gig and activity in the game, you really need to have patience, because most of the time you will really feel bored, because it's nothing both entertaining and unusual about this system and here I am mainly talking about the gigs. The gigs are repetitive, but that's not the actual problem. The real problem is the fact that you can't develop a real and special relationship with your fixers, nor any plot twists during their jobs, given to you. The mechanism is too simple for a game that has promised so much, being developed in 2020. The fixer calls you, asking you to do something (kill someone, recover something, sabotage a target) and after you finish the job, it calls you again in order to congratulate you. This system is too simple... You don't have the chance to ask additional questions, or not even to negotiate the sum you are expected to receive. The level of boringness and the lack of depth is one thing. The other thing are the NPC's. NPC are, again, very underdeveloped. There is no interaction with them, there is no logic in what they do. How it is possible to save some NPC's from being killed and then they ask me to not kill them? It's illogical. It's either bad programming, or just the fact that they have been in a rush to launch the game in a poor condition.

As for the good things related to my experience while playing Cyberpunk 2077... Well, there are a lot of good things to mention here. First is the mainstory, which is very good. I've not been disappointed by it, maybe because it's too short, but in other terms, the main story is great, with a lot of ups and downs and of course, you need to be able to weight the options that you should choose. I must say that at the end of the game I've met such a difficulty to choose my options, a difficulty that I never had in any other game, especially The Witcher III. I've been satisfied by the ending I had (I had the "path to glory" ending) and I've liked the idea that it's not really like a bad ending and a good ending (exception making the one that you choose to commit suicide), but all the other endings it could also be bad, as it could be good. I've also liked the idea of tarot cards, which are telling your journey and what's yet to come and the fact that after you finish the game, in the credits appear characters from the game, which are keeping you informed about their status and how things turned out for them. The sidequests are entertaining enough, especially because you have the chance to fully know the people who are with you and the ones who are not. Usually there are around 3-4 sidequests on character, which is nice. The gameplay, the graphics, the soundtrack are all incredibile. Maybe the gameplay is a little bit boring, because it could have been much more spectacular, but it's alright. The skills, the cars are also great. If it weren't for those things, the game deserves a 7, but all the good it compensates for the bad.

In conclusion, Cyberpunk 2077 it's worth playing. The game is not a Grand Theft Auto game and it should not be expected to be one. It's an RPG, with shooter mechanics, but entertaining enough to not bore you while playing it.

I'm really sorry for what happened with CDPR, because they seems to be like a very good company. I just hope that in the end things would turn out for better for them and that they would restructure the whole company, in order to not let this happen again. I also hope they have the ability to learn from their mistakes. With those being said, I look forward to play their upcoming games.

"Disappointed" is an insane undertatement.

"Infuriated" more like it. Besides all the broken promises, and broken game mechanics, and broken NPCs, and unbreakable cars, there is still the overall plot to discuss. "Messy" doesn't even come close to describing what actually happens in the story. Things just happen. There is an overreliance of expositional dialogue, that only serves to further separate the player from the actual game. I never felt like I was part of anything. I felt like a tourist in North Korea. Like I was only shown what was presentable and most of that, were just backdrops and vistas. It's a pretty game. There are even glimpses of brilliance. But like excrement that's covered in gold, it may look great, but it stinks to high heaven. I really hope CD Project Red makes good on their latest promise and work to improve the game. As of now, I can't fathom anyone giving a positive rating to an unfinished AAA - Role Playing Game with less RPG - elements, than GTA San Andreas. 2020. What a year to remember. I was looking forward to this for over 7 years. Now, I'm just sad.

The game lost its 1st impression but can still make amends as there are still many fans

The amount of detail and incredible dedication for the cyberpunk architecture is beyond superior to many games. When I got a clear view to the city I gazed at the colorful neon signs to the point my head almost exploded of excitement. However when I started to take a closer look I could only see a buggy environment interaction that looks like it was made in 2010, characters are simply lifeless. You have a beautiful city that is inhabited by puppets without strings.

The story is too short but it is thankfully supplied with many side quests. I only wish some of those side quests would appear accordingly to completion of previous quests and not by passing time as you would have to either skip time or be stuck without side quests for a while. The story is actually one of few things that kept me being invested in the game.

The game overall felt very clunky. I prayed every time when something process demanding was happening as bugs are quite frequent. I can take bugs in gameplay but not in the story, some of the dialogues were swapped and misplaced which confused me a lot.

Playing this game was like playing something that should have been released a long time ago frankly because it brought nothing new, all of those gameplay features have already been implemented to other earlier released games and so with 2010 character mechanics and buggy gameplay it felt like a disappointment to fans as high expectations of futuristic gameplay and Cyberpunk atmosphere are crumbled.

The bugs and glitches really hurt this game

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt was definitely one of the best games of last decade so when I heard the next game was this, I got hyped. I bought the game the day after it came out and it's fine. It would've probably been just as good as The Witcher 3 if not for these awful glitches.

The bugs in this game are awful and make the game unplayable at times. Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order had glitches but the game was never unplayable and it still ran well on my Xbox One but this game has bugs so bad that the frame rate would drop significantly at times and the bugs were so bad and glitchy that I legit couldn't finish this game.

Everything else about the game is good though. The characters seem interesting and the story so far has me engaged but the glitches killed it for me. CD Projekt Red, if you're reading, get it together and fix this game. The Witcher 3 had a buggy launch and now it's one of the best games ever. Do the same with Cyberpunk 2077!

Feel while playing GTA 5 Future Versions

This, really cool and sadistic, Even though it keeps on going, the gameplay is similar to the future version of GTA 5, there is also the most powerful actor is Keanu Reeves, so exciting !!!

I don't like first person modes

I've started playing this game revolving around the character V.. which has three different storylines from which we can choose , ones a nomad, seconds a streetlife and thirds a corpo, based on our choices it concludes the game, just like other choice based storical games . My rating so far should be pretty low like 7 to 7.4 something not more, cause number 1 .. I really don't like the first person mode and I honestly didn't know it would be in the first person mode before I bought the game .. and what's even worse .. is that you have to customize your own character, which takes around an hour if you aren't too choosy, and once you've literally gone through hell with manually creating them then you can't even see them while you play, imagine. The game asked for a software update before I started playing which it installed. But now the game keeps hanging while I play .. I may or may not complete this game . So either I'll exchange it with another game .. who knows, my sissy had a friend who wanted to exchange games. I only like the third person mode.
